Why Your Intuition is Giving You Anxiety | And How to Fix It

People always want intuition first.
They want to open.
They want to feel more.
They want to see, sense, know.

I needed protection first.

And that difference matters more than most people realize.

Because fear doesn’t come from intuition.
Fear comes from unprotected awareness.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by energy, anxious after being around people, emotionally flooded for no clear reason, or scared of what you might feel if you “open up,” it’s not because something is wrong with you.

It’s because your system learned awareness without safety.

There’s an important distinction most spiritual spaces skip right over:
Sensitivity is not the same thing as sovereignty.

Being open doesn’t mean being protected.
Being intuitive doesn’t mean being grounded.
And feeling everything doesn’t mean you understand what any of it is.

When I was younger, I didn’t know how to protect myself. I didn’t know how to set boundaries with energy. I didn’t know how to open and close intentionally. So when things showed up, it felt invasive. It felt overwhelming. It felt like something was happening to me instead of with me.

That’s where fear was born.

Not because Spirit was dangerous — but because I didn’t have a container.

So I did what a lot of people do when they’re scared and unsupported:
I shut everything down.

And here’s the part no one likes to admit — shutting down can feel like protection.
At first.

The noise stops.
The sensations dull.
The awareness quiets.

But peace doesn’t come with it.

Because shutting down isn’t safety.
It’s survival.

Protection isn’t about closing yourself off from the world.
It’s about knowing what’s yours, what isn’t, and what gets access.

That’s sovereignty.

And sovereignty is very different from fear.

Fear says, “I have to block everything.”
Sovereignty says, “I decide what enters.”

Fear builds walls.
Sovereignty installs filters.

This is why I’m so intentional about saying protection comes before intuition.
Not because intuition is dangerous — but because awareness without protection creates anxiety, hypervigilance, and distortion.

You start questioning every feeling.
You second‑guess every sensation.
You wonder if you’re imagining things, losing control, or doing something wrong.

You’re not.

You’re just open without a boundary.

Protection doesn’t require aggression.
It doesn’t require force.
It doesn’t require fear.

Protection is respect — for your energy, your nervous system, and your humanity.

When I finally learned energetic hygiene — how to clear, how to ground, how to open and close intentionally — everything changed. Not because I became more intuitive, but because I became safe in my own body.

Awareness stopped feeling intrusive.
Energy stopped feeling overwhelming.
Intuition stopped feeling like something I had to survive.

That’s the shift most people are actually looking for.

Not more information.
Not more signs.
Not more messages.

Safety.

Because once you feel safe, intuition doesn’t shout.
It doesn’t demand.
It doesn’t scare you.

It becomes clear.
It becomes quiet.
It becomes collaborative.

So if you’ve been afraid to trust what you feel, I want you to hear this clearly:

There is nothing wrong with your sensitivity.
You don’t need to shut it down.
You don’t need to force it open.

You need a container.

And that container starts with protection — not as fear, but as sovereignty.

Before you try to open further…
Before you try to feel more…
Before you try to “activate” anything…

Ask yourself this first:

Do I feel safe in my own energy?

Because energy is sacred.
And sacred things deserve respect.

And remember:
Words are spells. Energy is sacred. And intention is the magic.
